Effective January 1, 2021 (AB1825)
Required Every 2 Years for CA Organizations With Five or More Employees
Mandatory 1-Hour California Employee Session
Mandatory 2-Hour California Supervisor Session
Assembly Bill 1825 (AB 1825) mandates all California organizations with five or more employees provide their employees with sexual harassment prevention training by January 1, 2021. After conducting the initial training, employers need to ensure the training is presented every two years to remain compliant.
Yes, hybrid and fully remote organizations operating out of the state of California are required to conduct sexual harassment prevention training if they have five or more employees.
When you hear the word “employees,” you might be inclined to only count full-time employees located in the state of California. But AB 1825 guidelines require you to include a wide range of employees including:
• Remote employees
• Employees located outside of California
• Part-time and temporary direct hires
• Seasonal and temp employees you hire to work for less than six months (within 30 calendar days after their hire date or within 100 hours worked, whichever occurs first).
• Independent contractors
• Unpaid interns
• Volunteers
Supervisors are required to conduct a 2-hour supervisor course while employees are required to conduct a 1-hour employee course.
Each of the 3 discrimination and sexual harassment prevention training options we provide our clients ensures your organization is in compliance with AB 1825. When a right fit for their organization, we encourage our clients to choose the onsite in-person training since it is engaging, interactive, and nothing can replace face to face interactions.
Yes, each training participant will receive a certificate of completion after each of our three training options.
