Our Gift to the Community
At San Diego Human Resources Consulting, we are always embracing our three C’s: Clients, Colleagues, and Community. This month we put a special spotlight on Community by providing handcrafted donations. During our annual employee retreat, we had the amazing opportunity of volunteering with a local organization named “Casa de Amparo.” Casa de Amparo is a local organization that dedicates their time and services to help young individuals who have grown up in the foster youth system or who have been faced with hardships in their life, including abuse and neglect. Their mission is “to support those affected by child abuse and neglect, through a range of programs and services that promote healing, growth, and healthy relationships.” We fell in love with the values of this organization and brainstormed ways we could come together to help in any way that we could.
To assist with these individuals’ transition into their own apartments, we purchased a wide variety of household items. We assembled large duffel bags for donations, comprised of items such as sheets, towel sets, shower curtains, cleaning supplies, blankets, and more. We hoped that not only would these bags set these young adults out on the right foot, but also provide comfort and joy. Our team topped off each bag with a handwritten note and a gift certificate. Taking time out of our retreat to volunteer and provide donations to local organizations is pivotal for us. At SDHRC, we are fulfilled knowing the items we have provided will go to good use.
